Examining the Factor Structure of Personality with Bayesian SEM

Abstract

We investigate the factor structure of personality traits under the Big Five model, specifically the Conscientiousness trait, using Bayesian structural equational modeling across multiple model structures (correlated-traits, bifactor, higher-order) and found evidence that B-SEM with informative priors performed better than non-B-SEM models and that bifactor structures best fit the data.
